that was stupid... starting 351w with no trans attached?

One secret I use on installing a trans like the big e4od is get some 6in by 7/16 bolts. I cut the heads off and I put one on each side if the block second hole down. they make excelent guides.

yup, i use my engine stand bolts to do this.

Cam break in.Did the factory do that to my Ford? I think not.
uhh yes they do. all engines are ran for operation check, leak, check, and short break in.

i got my atv jack back from my friend i think im just gonna pull the trans and remove the torque converter. get to do that after work tonight... ugh

Your just wasting your time, pour 15 quarts of atf in and fire it up. Your trans isn't working and there will be a film of lube throughout anyway to keep things lubed till the pressure builds which will not take long.

If you are really really worried about it unbolt your torque from the flexplate and slide it back from the engine, should be enough clearance to run the engine this way.
