heat control

Hi, I have a 95 Ranger with a 4l motor.

I cannot control the heat into the cab. Its full heat all the time. My mechanic told me its too hard to deal with and I should just open a window.

He is a really big guy and I think he just does not want to crawl under the dash.

Can anyone tell me where the problem may exist? The **** works.

Thanks very much.

Did he drop the glove box down and confirm it wasn't the blend door actuator? That is like $40.00 and a hour labor tops.

Even a minutes troubleshooting would have been nice
I went to junkyard and got a new **** control part. No good

Next is see if actuator works

If not.... Then I'll order the part recomended in this thread

Thank you for all the replies! It's still cold up here so heat is not an issue right now

I'll admit working inside a car and tearing out a dash is a pain but seriously you should see some of the crap I have done. One was so dumb the only way to remove 4 bolts to get it out was remove the front doors, thats german engineering for ya

I've had the same problem I'm trying to find the way to fix it without taking out your dash. In the meantime if you have a/c turn it to max a/c and that bypasses the blend door and blowes cold air out the vents. I have that web address somewhere I'll post it soon.

I kno bout the max AC. I'm sorta **** in that I want it to work properly so I ordered the heater treater part. Already have the motor off and that was a snap.

Will post results just in case some dummy like me has the same problem later!
