How to program a keyless entry

How do you program a keyless entry to a f-250 1997. Looking to buy 2 from ebay. my 01 expedition you push the door locks 8 times it flashes and you push your keyless entry buttons

IIRC, it is a gray plastic piece that hags down (taped up now) and you just put a jumper wire connecting the 2 outlets. (it looks like you are going to short something out and or pop a fuse or start a fire but it is just an open contact that you are closing with the jump).

I going a plug on the passenger side so wrong one?
