Welcome to FTE. Glad to have you and good to see another piece of history saved from the scrap heap! Solid looking '56 and the family history makes it even more special.
Thanks for the welcom. Dano78 thanks for the tip on the Beavercreek yard I will have to check it out sometime. And for those who asked I am in Stayton and I speend a lot of time in Albany. The Family history of the truck is why I got it. Right now in my life I do not need a project. A few years ago i sold a project and decided no more projects or hot rods for a while. Working on the daily drivers is all I need. But kind of giving up on a hobby because of life can be hard at times. So I was excited when I got this ford and since it has my wife's family history she is onboard with the project. Unlike the old ones I had that were just toys that cost a lot in her eyes. Those kind of projects can be got any time. This ford with the family history was a once in a life time opportunity and my wife knew someday I would have another project. Also it helps that this truck is in good shape to restore, I have seen what some of you guys are starting with.
Yeah from what I can tell, you do have a pretty solid foundation. At least it's someting you can fart around with if and when you get bored. They make good conversation pieces too.
Small world. My '56 came out of Silverton, OR almost a year ago to date. I plan on going to a few of the shows down that way this summer, including one in Silverton to show the truck to the P.O. Figured it might be fun for him to see his old truck again.
