So, on my V10 I had a SCT tuner from 5star. It offered some HP and TQ, but the big thing was Mike adjusted all the limiters, trans shift points/pressure, and drive by wire. Driving the truck stock was almost painful as I couldn't get full power until moving over a certain speed. Also, the drive by wire was so soft, I had to put it 3/4 to the floor to get any kind of power on take off. Even then it was weak. His tunes made the truck "feel" 2000 lighter! So, my question is, are the new 6.7's set up the same way? I'm sure the 400/800 will be plenty of power, but it will be painful if I have to punch it to get it to show off. So, hows the pedal sensitivity? Do you get full power right off the bat or do you have to wait till going a certain speed?
There is plenty of power.
Because of the low first gear, you won't have any issue getting your trailer moving.
The drive by wire is only an issue driving through a parking lot or slow traffic; under 15 mph.
It's a bit difficult to feather the throttle at those low speeds in [D] because it wants to shift often and tends to lurch a bit when you're new to the truck.
Shifting is a bit harsh but it's better with weight behind the truck in T/H.
Edit: forgot to say, I use manual mode most of the time and it's easier to control at low speeds because you can start out in 2nd or 3rd gear.

Reason: Changed fly to drive...this isn't an airplane!
I've been driving a DBW car for about 9 years now. I don't notice any issues with the 6.7 DBW programming of the throttle response. They can program in all the sensitivity they want into the throttle, it's not going to speed up the turbo spool.
You do bring up a good point though. On my old 2004 F150, if you were in reverse or started out in 2nd gear, the DME would reprogram the throttle to be less sensitive, presumably so that you don't have a jumpy throttle. This was especially helpful in winter so that less torque goes to the wheels so you don't get wheelspin. It was also helpful in reverse when trying to back your way into a tight spot to avoid applying too much throttle in such a small area.
I haven't checked to see if starting out in 2nd or 3rd gear on the 6.7 remaps the throttle or not.
Thanks guys. Again, my V10 had plenty of power. It was just neutered through the drive by wire. After the tune it felt more like a small suv with a V8 instead of a 7000 lb tank. It would jump from the line. Without the tune it would creep from a stop even if you pinned it. It is just Ford telling me how to drive safely. LOL. Seriously though, it was almost dangerous when I first had it. Sometimes when entering an intersection with plenty of time, I got a good scare when I wasn't getting out of my own way with traffic bearing down. I had to pin it quick to get out of the way. Anyone new who drove my truck for the first time noticed the same.
