Starving Throttle

I have about 600 miles on my new 2010 FX4 SCREW. Love the truck, but......I am having a problem with the way it accelerates. Lots of power compared to my 08 and I can even live with the different (not necesarily bad) tranny shifts, but when I accelerate moderately from most all speeds above 20 mph it feels as if the throttle is starving or the engine is misfiring?!! It is hard to describe but the truck almost feels like it surges as it accelerates. It is very faint. I wonder if this is programmed that way to aid the fuel economy or to prevent WOT acceleration?!

Anybody else feel this? Is there a flash TSB that might correct this? Mine was just built two weeks ago so It should be up to date.

I am hoping that when Edge comes out with their 2010 version it may correct this.

sounds like what you are talking about is the delay when you punch it... The drive by wire causes some of this, while the extra couple gears take a bit longer to shift down through, especially with so few miles on it... It probably has not yet learned your driving style yet.

I agree it maybe the drive by wire setting by Ford. Ford has a table for Max Throttle blade opening based on RPMS and we have seen Max openings of 20-30 degrees at 3000-3500 RPMS. Our new 2011 6.2L was like that. The computer nanny would not allow full 90 degree opening until 4500 RPMs.

Im driving in D. It is dissappointing that the 1,2,3 positions on the shifter wont downshift and lock you in that gear. Who would ever want to start out in 3?!?

That is not it, I am used to the drive by wire lag. This is when I am giving moderate gas from about 30-40mph. If i give it enough gas to accelerate but not mash it the truck picks up speed but it does it in surges almost like it is starving.

So how is this corrected? Are there decent programmers out there for the 2010? I loved the edge I had on my 08 because of the permanent display.
It does feel like it is being starved and really wants to GO, but cant. But from a stop if i mash it, she halls a$$.
