"Check engine" is on at my F250 LD 99. I pickup code P0402 ( Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected ). I have this problem like 6 month. I can fill rough idle when is car at stop. First time when code P0402 show up and I felt rough idle (before 6 month) I replaced DPFE sensor "at blind". But it didn't solve problem. What else can be? EGR valve or EGR Valve Vacuum Regulator Solenoid. As I understand EGR valve at my truck is stuck open all times.
Remove the rubber hose attached to the EGR valve with the motor at idle.
Do you feel vacuum on your finger if you block the hose?
Does the engine smooth out with the hose off the EGR valve?
Let us know what you see and we will go from there..
OK I replaced DPFE sensor and EGR solenoid. No solution. It must be stocked EGR valve and I want clean it. But I can't open flare nut what is at EGR tube. I tried with 26 mm open end wrench that I can slide on but can't turn on, just it round corner. I need 26 mm FLARE NUT WRENCH with usual 15 degree offset. Where I can find it? It is not for sure 1" size as I can't put that size at nut.
