I've been going though a ton of previous posts to find out what I can do to improve a stocker 351W with only 41K miles on the clock. I'm looking for more low end torque for towing, more pep for daily driving, and maybe better milage. I'm planning a series of mods over time to see where each puts me.
First, I'm thinking about geting a MSD 6a ignition, K&N filter, and electric fan. There are all low cost things that hopefully will make a noticable difference.
Second, I'll free up the exhaust with some brand of headers and exhaust (Flowmaster cat back or dual pipes) which costs more but still reasonable.
Third, I'll throw in a Crane Xtreme 4x4 cam.
Finally, if I get to the point where I need a rebuild, I might make it a 396 stroker.
Am I on the right track or am I missing a cylinder? Any thoughts?
a 94? Is it still speed density or is it MAF? If it's speed den you will want to either get a chip, or convert to mass air flow. If it's speed den and you dont do one of those 2 options it will run like a stock truck no matter what you do.
It's MAF I belive so I should be alright. All the chips I've seen require 91 octane fuel. Considering that she already sucks down gas like there's no tomorrow, I'd rather stay away from chips that up the cost unless they really pay off.
preaty much everything but the cam will work well with speed density. im not shure how currect this is but i have herd that speed density can easily run a stroked engine.
