Little update. I converted the truck to 12 volt, just waiting on the alternator to come in. Should be here by Thursday.
I've added Posie super slide springs to my to do list. Just ordered them tonight. I've wanted to drop her 3", but put it off for next year. Mentally picturing the pinion angle for the 9" rear got me thinking about how dropping the truck 3" would affect pinion angle whenever I decided to pull the trigger on lowering her. I came to the conclusion that I should kill two birds with one stone and get the springs intalled before the 9" rear is put in so pinion angle is set correctly. Springs should be her by Friday. Sid from Dropped Axles is a great guy and a wonderful resource for information. He saved me a bunch of money I would have wasted on stuff I did not need.
The weekend was kind of hectic due to my brother having a baby, and could not get to the glass install. Maybe I'll get to it next week.
Well, got the truck back. I installed the posie super slider lowing springs, steering gearbox and 9" rear end with 3.50 gears. I also installed turn signals. The 3" lowering springs dropped the truck only 1", but I understand it will take some time to settle. I was able to drive the truck to 75mph! I've got to rebuild the steering components because its still too loose for my comfort. Still have to do the glass. This latest round of projects set me back further than I was anticipating. I'm happy with the outcome though. Here are some pics. I've got another 2" of settling to wait on.
Hey Mike,
You've got to slow down! You are killing me over here - your truck looks great. I'm not seeing another two inches of lowering - your stance looks just fine where it is. 75 MPH is top end over here as well - My problem is I sit there thinking of all those welds & bolts - Did I torque that down or not? Hmmm...
I like the flat black look - very nice. Best looking truck in Pflugerville!
