If you studded your head and had a high output IP had pistons cut 19-1 compression ratio what could a banks sidewinder put out for boost. Just curious, some one has to have pushed one before.
I was just wondering. I was thinking about making an ARP order and studding my head on my 88. I was wondering if it would be worth it to stud the 90 too don't want to get a diffrent turbo but I want to push more boost if the sidewinder can't push more than 12 psi efficently I won't do it.
why bother?? it has 493,000+ miles on it and still runs like new.
when it gets a bit warmer i am swapping the cab and will put valve cover gaskets in the engine to slow down the oil leaks, but that is as far as i am going with it.
Something that has been overlooked for a long time until mine and Racin's builds are the camshafts.
The camshaft I came up with helps gets rid of a lot of the issues associated with blowing HG's on these engines.
As for boost, 15psi is really the efficient limits of the stock chargers compressor sides.
What is involved in grinding the cam besides the obvious taking the cam in to get it ground, IE; pistons, rings, berrings, valves, lifters, what needs to be changed when doing the job. What does the grind do to the timing of the valves to make it less prone to head gasket failure? How would a guy go about getting the design of the cam you came up with? I have this much power(---------) and I want this much (-------------) maybe this much(----------------) but I'm not sure im ready for all that power though.
So yours is made for higher end speed??? And Russ's is made for pulling? Next question....can you post a picture of your GP bracked you fabbed onto your truck...i just turbo'd my 84's motor and put it into the truck, now i need to get the GP's and whatnot working in the cab....what did you do?
