Valves not closing

Valves not closing
I have an 88 4.9L missing on 2 cyls #s 1&3. No compression. Very log story short. When I backoff the non-ajustable rocker stud 1+ turn. Compression returns to 160.
Now what do I do? Was a valve job messed up.Appears to have just had one. I sure the answer is here abouts, I'm confused at this point.

From: Rust/Salt Belt in SW Mich
Check the length of your push rods. You could have two cylinders with odd ball push rods in the motor. Just for a check swap the push rods from the offending cylinders to different cylinders see if the issue followes to the other cylinders.
