ok,after installing a rebuilt engine,i have been having an issue with a miss..Passenger side only, here is some of the test results...cylinder contribution test---1,5,7 balance falt...last codes read "P1316 Injector Driver Module Codes Detected"..I made the mistake of clearing the codes before going to KOEO test to see what the P1316 had stored.....today, pulled passenger side valve cover, checked UVCH, ohmed everything, then decided to just replace it, no help, checked the harness on the outside of valve cover and wires, that looks good....Could this be the IDM or is there something else to check?????tried changing the CPS ( I am using the black one),unplug the ICP and it runs worse (no oil in plug)..
Would anyone have one that they would be willing to let me test with??or possibly sell??
Jump in with any ideas, this is getting on my last nerve...
The truck shouldn't run if you unplugged the IPR. Did you mean ICP?
I'd say do a buzz test to see if you can find any codes that way. Have you ohmed the wiring between the IDM and the valve cover to rule out any wiring issues? Chaffed wires around the 42 pin connector are not unheard of.

Yes, i mean the ICP (corrected it in my post)...I have not ohmed the wires from the IDM to the valve cover but will tomorrow....
bump for myself-----here is what i am going to try today.....once agean check the connections, ohm from the IDM to the valve cover....I guess first i am going to drive it and see what codes i get.....If all that checks out, then i plan on pulling the IDM and send it to Swamps for testing.....
can someone tell me what/how to do the ohm from the IDM to the valve cover?? I know which pins @ the valve cover but what about the IDM??
Thanks Grant...
I didn't have a chance to do much today....when i got in, I have been doing a lot of searching and reading. The question I have now, IF the buzz test is good (passes).does that mean the IDM is good??If I read correctly, the IDM fires the injector solenoid....
Is it possible I have injector failure?? doing the cylinder rotational volisty test, injector 5 runs 4.8-5.9 at idle...the rest 1,3,7 run 0.0-1.5...
Thanks Grant...

One way to tell would be to swap injectors with a good known cylinder and see if the higher % follows it. Though there shouldn't be a problem there, I'd check cyl pressure (compression) before swapping injectors. Other factors can affect cyl balance besided fuel and electrical.
I feel for you Joey. I'm reading and learning on your dime and hope I never have to use it for myself. It dose sound like maybe that one injector, if all else is correct, could have a bad selenoid. God bless,

compression test tomorrow as soon as the tool comes in.....then swap injectors ,to see if the problem follows....
[QUOTE=Bonanza35;11463247]Thats what I would do also. How many miles on it now? I would think injector or tuning trouble first.
Chet[/QUOT
It now has 578 miles....at first I was thinking air in the system...its past that now...I have a live tuning date of 3/2.....I guess we will see in a few days after all the testing is done

what other factors????
I was referring to the factors that contribute to combustion. Air and heat. Compression is what builds the heat and air to accelerate and complete the burn process. The wrong amount of these elements will also cause an imbalance.
