headlight warning chime
OK I posted a question earlier about timer relay or light switch. My door ajar light stays on, suggesting that a door sensor may be faulty, but I just noticed that if I leave my headlights on and turn the truck off, remove the key and open the door, no headlight on warning chime goes off. So the question now is what controls that chime, the headlight switch or some relay? Or is this some wierd gremlin that is gonna be killed by a dose of WD 40?

WD-40 gremlin. I went through the same procedure; try it with the lights on before I turn it off, lights on, open doorr, pull key, lights off, close door, ..... you get the picture. Weird things happened in different light/door/key combinations. WD-40 was my panacea -- no more door chime. Funny part is that I wanted to take it to the dealer and make them fix it, so I never bothered (next time I need to go...). One day, my dad & I were going to our trucks at the same time, and he said, "Why don't you get that fixed already? What's wrong with the truck?" My response, "No big deal... I can fix it myself it I really want to." Dad said to just get it done already -- it was starting to annoy him seeing my cargo light on. Got the WD-40 out... 30 seconds later, all fixed. JUST DO IT!
