Better MPG

Hello I am new to this forum and just recently purchased an 07 F250. I knew what i was getting into when i bought the truck it only has 85000 miles on it but it has an 8 inch rough country lift, 40 inch KM2s, a ranch hand bumper, and a K&N cold air intake with straight exhaust. Im looking for a good setup on my truck to get a little bit better gas mileage and I wanna keep what is already on it. Im already leaning towards regearing, tuner, egr delete. ANY suggestions on what to do and what products to use?

Matt's tunes are real popular here. That's what I'm running. His SRL is awesome! Good luck

Alot of people report getting 1-2 better MPGS by tuning with an SCT with custom Tunes. Matt from Gearhead or Eric from Innovative's tunes seem to be the most popular. But the best way to help MPG's is going to be how you drive it. If MPG's are really important take the lift and wheels off and return to stock.

The tires are your biggest killer. But regearing, tunes and a egr delete would prolly see a 1-3gain. Not sure you could justify the cost.

I lost about 1mpg with Matts SRL++. It is awesome though. Tires and lift kill you. Spending to save mpgs usually is a waste, ie no payback.

I doubt EGR delete will help any - there are numerous threads about this not helping mpgs

If your looking for better mpg with your set up, your pi**** against the wind. Your truck is set up to destroy mpg at the cost of the WOW factor. Tunes are for power. If they give you better mpg, doubtful, your one of the few. Peoplee claiming 1 to 3 mpg are living on a diff. planet. Also, get rid of the intake and go back stock before you dust your turbo. Not criticizing just giving you the facts with no sugar coating.

probally in the 5.00 range with the 40". Go to a 4x4 shop and they will get you in the right direction or call a gear company, thats probally your best bet

agree 200% with everything 69cj said. People that "claim" better fuel economy, with a tunner, are few and far between. The most economical way, and best way at that, to get better MPG is to control the right foot, and don't pull anything till the truck is up to operating temps.

I would have never believed i could get better mileage with a 120 hp tune, don't go over 2k rpm, and keep your foot out of it. I was up to 18 mpg hand calculated before modding madness pulled it way down

765 miles?? How big of a tank do you have? I think the normal tank is like 28.5 gal isn't it? that would be 26.8 MPG. No way I would buy that

It wouldn't get 26 mpg falling off a cliff.

I got two tanks back to back that hand calculated to 23.9 and 24.0 mpg in the fall of '09. The key was staying under 60 mph and the a/c was off. I'm convinced I could do it again...taking the same route/road.
