Ok so I am horrible at drawing but I am ok at CAD I had some free time on my hands today and I wanted to make a rough idea of the flat bed idea for my truck to be fair none of this is dimensional right now this is just a visual. The boxes below I already am not happy with and am going to make then not so tall. Not easily seen is the notch in the back and like it or not the truck is going to have a stack to match up to the diesel.
just a different color make some details more or less visible
Right now I am torn between a fleet side with a really cool surprise yall will get to see when it is cadded up or this flatbed to spoil the surprise the bed sides flip up to so tool storage.
how much does the auto CAD program cost because that would of been really handy when i was working on mine, or if i wanted to design/alter my body or something...
I actually use a program called ViaCAD cheap but powerful ViaCAD 2D/3D | Consumer CAD Software | PunchCAD
100 bucks vs the roughly 4 grand for autocad I think the most basic autocad set is like 1200 bucks
i always wanted to build a bunch of 'service bed' toolboxes into a regular bedside, i seen a new ford with one, it would take a lot of work making it look good but would really be impressive. from afar it looks like a regular fleetside but up close you see a bunch of doors
If you want top access tool boxes that is cool, but hard to weather seal and then when its loaded with fire wood/hay/brush/t posts-barb wire rolls/what ya gonna do to get to those jumper cables?
4 corner hang boxes with side drop doors and a bigger access door/compartment to the gooseneck ball/boomers-chain storage area, and weather seal no issues there cause it has a drain hole.
Remember your fuel tank is back there right underneath.
