EFI to carb conversion, held up

Made the swap from dis system and have a carb on my 89 ranger now. Problem is that now after we have it all back together, it will start and run for about 5 mins and then die. Runs like a champ for the time it is running the cuts off. Using the stock fuel pump with a regulator. Another question is how much fuel pressure is needed for a stock motorcraft 2 brl carb? Right now it is set to 5 psi. Any help is appreciated.

old school: carbs like 3 psi. sounds like the ECM isn't seeing a rpm from the distributor and once it is in closed loop turns off the fuel pump. Look and see if you continue to have fuel pressure and spark. to fix fuel, run a separate wire to apply an external ground, because that is what the ECM controls. The hot is on all the time the IGN is on. Sorry I don't recall what color. I don't know what you did with the EFI distributor, so I can't help you there. BTW might want to buy a smaller after-market pump,, they are only about $30. If the in tank still works, just don't power the High pressure one under your butt on the frame rail

The pump in the tank keeps running. My buddy forgot to tell me he dropped the coil...so we replaced it, and now it runs alright. Just need to get a few minor Things.
