Right on.
I've seen something similiar to this before. It was on a severely lowered custom. Guy used those '53 Cad taillights (long pointy lenses) in the same spot as yours. Didn't look half bad, truck had alot of other custom touches done to it aswell... would have helped to have a picture.. One of my non-camera moments.

Of course I will share! That what this is all about!
I used a silicon rubber tube that fit in the bed rolls pretty tightly. Any rubber tube could work as long as they fight fairly tight in the bed roll.
The wires were soldered to the pigtails and one to the side of the socket for a ground. All three wires were shrink wrapped for protection.
The socket is for 1157 bulbs from Auto Zone (most auto parts stores should have it).
LED bulbs:
The assembly was pushed into the bed roll and capped with the plug. The LED bulbs fit nicely into the cap plug and fits perfectly into the bed roll.
I got the cap plug from Ace Hardware.
