ESOF issue
Have no four wheel drive unless I manually lock the hubs. Should the vacuum pump run continuously if I remove the outlet line. Mine doesn't but pump will run for a few seconds.

ESOF issue
Don't know if this will help anybody else but it turned out to be an easy fix. Vacuum pump would start if I tapped it so I removed cover & found a cold solder joint. Works fine now. Ford wanted $400.00 for a new pump.
