ficm program

just need some more insight on ficms, besides the programing is there any diff between model years? will a 2005 my work on a 2004 my? does the pcm see if its a different stategy and does it have any ill effects. does a sct programmer do anything to the ficm?

SCT's can NOT get to the FICM.

Any truck will run with any FICM. It may or may not set a PCM-mismatch code; and I don't remember if that sets the MIL or not.

From my experience it will set a software incompatibility code, but will NOT turn on the CEL.
