Hey guys I was wondering where most of you get your parts from. I have been buying mine from LMC. I am not installing anything probably till fall due to putting my garage up this summer. I have noticed parts arecheaper through National Parts Depot.and MAC. Just looking to save a buck but I dont want to lose any quality. I have a 56 f-250 and I am buying suspension and steering parts first. As this is where I am going to start my restoration. Thanks
I put my truck away for the winter and it's driving me nuts. Partly so I can feel like I'm getting something done on it, and parly so I can save a couple bucks, I put together a spreadsheet listing the parts I will need. I used a part number and part description and the price from various venders for each part. It's been interesting to see how some parts are very close to the same price from the venders, and other parts vary quite a bit from vender to vender. I've looked into Dennis Carpenter, LMC, yesteryear, Blue Oval, and Mid-fifties so far.

Being I think I will need almost part made for these trucks (my truck should get some kind of FTE reward for worst ever start of build) I would like to see that spreadsheet if you could pm it to me!
I would say 95% of the time it comes down to shipping and your distance from a vendor. Most of the retailers get their parts from one or two manufacturers. I say if have a one more local to you, get your stuff from them. Shipping can wipe out any differences in price. For big items or big orders, I make a weekend trip to my favorite seller and take the shipping costs and put them towards a nice hotel stay and dinner with the misses. I have ordered from all the major retailers and all have pros and cons about them. Enjoy!
Some of the venders will bring the parts you've ordered to the bigger shows and swap meets if you can plan ahead & be that patient. One of them is Dennis Carpenter. If you place the order at least seven days before the event they will bring them along and there will be no shipping charge. They list the shows in their catalog & I would think it's on their web site also.
We do a fair amount of traveling & a parts run shounds like a good excuse for another road trip.

As far as I know I sent you the info in a pm. Let me know if you got it. If not, I'll get one of my kids to do that next time he stops by for a visit. I help him with car repairs, carpentry, etc., he helps me with computers. That sound familiar to anyone?
