It's quite possible that he's got an injector issue, but I'd want to run a contribution /balance test first before I said for sure that's the exact problem.

I also hear that if the FICM is bad it will start rough. Mine drives rough or missfires while driving. Is this true?
Normaly with a BAD FICM yes it starts ruff and smooths out as things warm up
injectors are not to bad to change especialy with the FTE Guys help
Iv had all mine out pretty good Info in the Tech folder
You need an AE to test injectors
A scangaugeII would also be good to have but cant do a cylinder balance test. But with SGII you can see alot of operating system sensors its a Great Gauge
A ballon test may also help dial in a bad injector
