A guy I work with just told me his truck has no throttle responce. He installed gauges (boost, pyro, fuel pressure) over the weekend and now it will no go over an idle. He unhooked the wiring for the gauges, checked fuses and still nothing. I'm drawing a blank. He said that the lower sensor on the spider has no voltage. That is just for IAT correct? I'm going to bring my scanner in tomorrow and see what we can find. Just wondering if anyone has any info would be appreciated. Sorry for the limited info to go on for now.
Thanks
When my excursion did that it was a blown fuse caused by the wires on the shifter rubbing and randomly blowing the fuse. I bought a new shift lever because I couldn't see where they were rubbing and we were leaving on vacation soon. I can't remember which fuse it was but it's marked in my manual haha.
Either there is no power to the TPS or the TPS is bad. You have a 2001. If his is a 99 to 2001 you can put your TPS on his.
Only takes about 5 minutes. 2 Torx screws and 1 connector and you don't have to remove the throttle assembly.
Accelerator pedal assy. I got my assy from ford for around $80 IIRC. It's both switches and the whole pedal. If u were in NM I'd give you my old one since the new one did not fix my problem.
On second thought, you could pull his assembly and try spraying contact cleaner in all the holes and cracks around the TPS. I have heard of that fixing them (temporarily).
