Dent repair

My '92 F150 has had a dent on the passenger's side of the bed ever since I bought the truck a couple years ago, this is an old picture, before I put on my lift, bigger tires, etc. but anyways the dent still looks the same lol.

How easily repairable is this? I am painting the truck black next summer, but need to take care of some rust, along with this dent, before that. I am also planning on replacing the wheel arches on both sides.

Thanks

Do you have a stud gun? If so, easy repair. If not it's a lot harder to do.

Sounds like I might be in need of one, then.. I'd rather not get ripped off by taking the truck to a body shop to get it repaired.

Recommend any stud guns?

If it were me, I'd replace the whole panel. Just drill out the factory spot welds, clamp a new one in place and plug weld it in place. Those dents look to be right in body lines, which means the metal is stretched and it'll likely be more work than it's worth to try and save.

Harbor Freight sells a pretty cheap stud gun and with the coupons even better.

That would be the most ideal solution, but the only thing that turns me off is the cost. $350 per bedside panel. I don't have a welder, and so add the cost of a body shop doing the labor = a lot of $$$.

I think I will get a stud gun and try my best at pulling it out.

Must be this one -> ? Stud Welder Dent Repair Kit

I was looking at that, it has mixed good/bad reviews. Overall 4.5 stars though.

I used my buddys a few times on some dents in my daughters Neon. It worked real good. At $99 or so with the 20% off coupon it's on my list to buy soon.

Cool, thanks for the help!

I'll buy one as soon as summer rolls around. Too cold to do anything right now.
