Temperture problems
now i know this isnt a 6.0 which is much more important to have the digital guge 4, but i hate the dash gauges and i dont think they do anythin more than act as a warning light. others may disagree, but 6.0 owners will agree with this. i suggest getting something like a scangauge2

If you have an automatic the temp you see on the computer is not reading coolant temp. Ignore it. It can range all the way up to about 400° and then drop back down and start climbing all over again.
I installed an after market coolant gauge so I could actually see the temp in degrees and not rely on the in dash temp gauge.
To answer your question the coolant temp sensor is on the top of the water pump.
