USING VIN DECODER WITH SPECIFICATIONS
Hi First post here. Great site. Im researching a 2001 F150. I know the VIN #. knowing the vin and decoding it with the decoder how can i use that decoder information to cross reference it with theproduct information specification site to know exactly what this 2001 F-150 has? Do i have to visual see the vehicle to determine the specs on it. For examble. Is it 5 lug or 7? Does it have a 4 pin or 7 pin trailer light kit? Does it have the 5 speed overdrive autotranny or the 4 speed autotranny. Does it have 3 leaf or 4 leaf springs? Thanks in advance for the replies and help. Rob.

Found how to decode it. Says transmission type, axle type, spring type and everything else.

Bought this Ford. It's a 2001 F-150 4x4 with a 5.4 and a limited slip (h9) and tow option and trailer option, its a 6.3" bed pretty much in a good condition. Seems to have been a http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/dms/ vehicle. It's about my 7th Ford and my 6th with the 5.4 Bullet Proof Motor. These trucks are AAA+++ especially the 5.4................Combo of H9 and 4x4 and 5.4 is an awesome package. Thanks for everyone's help. Respectfully: Rob
