EBPS Cleaning

I had the radiator out of my E99 F350 while I was changing my water pump and noted that I had a lot of room to access my EBPS sensor and tube.

Thus I pulled the sensor and tube to see if they were clean. They were. I used shop air to blow through the tube and had no problem.

I thought I was home clean but decided while I was at it to check the fitting that goes into the exhaust manifold.

Surprise! It was plugged solid!

I cleaned it with a small screw driver and re assembled everything.

I don't know if my fuel mileage had improved but the truck seems to run better. Didn't seem to be running bad before any how.

Just a reminder to be sure the whole system is clean if you go throught eh trouble to check the sensor and tube.

If your fitting was plugged, your sensor was most likely plugged as well. Were you able to clean that out too? Mine was so packed, after trying to dig it all out, I just bought a new one.

Here's mine.

This winter I been notice alot issues of those in Michigan. People tell me how horrible mileage they get now.

I notice tons carbon in line. But is there way to melt out carbon like chemical that soak though it ? And I can't risk loose that line they will snap due rust on fitting to exhaust manifold.

I had to use Berryman's on a friend's tube the other day. With that and some weedeater cord it finally freed up.Wear rubber gloves with that Berryman's,it is pretty aggressive on the skin.
We had the tube disconected from the truck.I would not spray the Berryman's into the manifold.

My tube and sensor were pretty clean. That was why I was so surprised to find the exhaust manifold fitting plugged.

Of course that might be why the tube and sensor were clean.
