If you put a little bit of hair spray on the boot when you install it, it will help the boot stick to the IC pipe and make it a little harder to blow off.

Spray the inside of the boots with the cheapest hair spray you can find to help the boots stick to the pipes

Is there a big diffrence between alum and steel pipes? like is there more airflow with one or the other?

Lightbulb

Congrats Mike for the install and the good deal you got there (free), I want to see the pics after paint.

BTW if the boots continue blowing off, you need like a ring wire welded at the end of each pipe.

I dont think that are any diff between them in airflow, just the strenght, appareance and the diff type of welding IMHO.

Actually, the hairspray that was mentioned is merely to help the guy working on the truck in his attempt to look like he knows what he's doing. Nice hair= nice truck, right?
