I spent all freaking day removing this "Defragmenter Virus."

Followed these directions:
Remove System Defragmenter (Uninstall Guide)

my comp is still not running quite right. Let's control this a little better FTE.

Dave, read my earlier post...if you were running in a VM environment, the worse that you would have to do is reboot the computer. With a VM, up-to-date AVG (or similar), and up-to-date Spybot (or similar) it is nearly impossible to get infected....20+ years now, trouble-free. I scan my computers with AVG & Spybot weekly, but never find anything. FTE cannot protect you, you have to protect you. An interesting proof of this is run under a VM environment, turn OFF all virus protection/spyware protection and cruise the net...scary what is happening out there. You will get infected with some of the most hideous stuff within days - then just kill the VM machine and restart the VM and you are trouble-free.

Install Sandboxie, start Sandboxie, then have it start your browser...any browser. Your browser will then be running within a VM environment. It is that simple!

this is a hacker thing. FTE has blocked the IP, and they come back with another IP.

I run Norton, MicroTend, and aVast. I figured one of them would work. I mean they are constantly trying to block each other. This is the first problem I've had in 3 years. I also usually only go to reputable websites, like FTE.

I tried Sandboxie and it noticeably slows down my browser. If Windows 7 has a virtual environment built in I'll start using it.

What browser are you running...I have used Firefox and Chrome in the VM of Sandboxie and have seen no slowdown. It should not cause a slowdown because all it is doing is creating the VM in a designated area of the hard drive that can't replicate or change anything else on the machine.

Reps sent to Neal! I downloaded it and computer seems to be running better and faster. Kinda like installing a new mod on your truck..lol..

I'm also running Mozilla ad blocker and downloaded a subscription for it. Basically filters out a lot of junk when you are trying to load a page. You can mess with the filters yourself and even block images and stuff trying to load when you open a page but found the subscription filter works good.

My "Avast" kept blocking it but that was Sunday, I have not had a sign of it today. I scanned my computer with Avast today and found nothing.

It does if you are running Professional or Ultimate (I think that's what they call it).

Hopefully not. I just blocked your aviator and the page loads faster. Are you causing the problems?
