Accelerating while at a complete stop
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate your response to an issue I'm facing with our Ranger PU.
I've noticed within the last couple of days that as I am at a complete stop my Ranger accelerates/reves up for no apparent reason. After about what seems to be about 30 seconds everything is back to normal except that when I turn on the ignition while it is warm it accelerates. Either way at different times it seems to accelerate for no apparent reason. Is there a solution for this? is it necessary to put a sensor testor on this to find out what code could be affected by this problem and help to resolve whatever is causing this acceleration. From my observation while at a complete stop it really reves up and then comes back down.
Great daily driver and hardy no problems up until now. Have 166,000 miles on it and runs like a charm. Appreciate your help.
