no turner at all everything is stock, checked harness really well no chafing, have not disconected the pcm, that is one of the few things that has not been replaced yet.........was still wondering about the fuel rail crossover from riff-raff that I installed..... its is pulsing hard I just noticed it yestersday so I ran it up today looking for bubbles in the fuel bowl or dirty fuel from possible combustion getting into fuel rail and everything looked perfect in the fuel bowl.
Yes did talk to Clay and he confirmed that lines should not be pulsing so into two more dealerships have looked at it since last post and both assured me it was the wiring pigtail and or UVCH that was repalced because they were jobbers and not ford parts........as I am on the road got them to replace the parts with ford parts and bill was over 500 bucks and as you can guess problem was not solved. as far as the cross over lines go when it is running smooth the lines do not hammer at all.......now Im over 500 miles from home for next while so repairs are gonna be difficult.....nearest mechanic over hour away in any direction
subscribing....i'd like to hear from others with the FRx. If smooth, then whats the fix? It seems my truck runs the way it should? Is it because of the split shot injectors, the initial "shot" then the relapse causing the pulse...
that would be awsome but Im in northern british columbia so if anyones around hudsons hope or ft st john would be geat to hear from ya!! just food for thought went out this afternoon and fired up truck and ran like crap for first ten minutes then smoothed out and ran like a brand new 7.3 for 25 miles then back to crap again smack just like that! steady running on highway at bout 65 and bang just starts running like its on 6 cylinders again.......Im baffled
I'm stumped. I suggest before you spend anymore money on parts I would buy an AE so you can do some live data logging when the truck starts acting up. I'm hoping some of the other experts out there can chime in. BTW, your out in BFE...holy cow
hey thanks for the input Rob greatly appreciated!! AE is next step for sure as long as it doesnt decide to calf before I get one..... anyway dont think there is much chance of finding someone around here that can diagnose this issue for me..... 4 different ford dealerships have tried and have not been successfull.......it is getting worse for sure so sooner or later what is faulting will finally fail and I will be forced to find the issue. thanks again

Darryl,
I have had very similar intermittent symptoms. Very intermittent, 6 times in about the last year, but now twice just last Thursday. First time that day on a cold start at about 50°. Started right up but took about 5 minutes of idleing to start running properly and without stumbling if I tried to rev it up. I hooked up the AE and everything looked good. Good ICP and duty cycle and no codes. MY HPOP gauge even matched the AE ICP readings. I have a fuel pressure gauge and the pressure at idle was always a good 69 PSI at idle. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out because I was running late. I drove to a meeting without any problems. When I came out of the meeting a couple of hours later it again, for about 5 minutes, wouldn't idle or increase RPMs without stumbling . Connected AE and all looked good. The engine oil temp was 160° so I don't think it can be blamed on a cold start problem. I will be taking a closer look at this tomorrow, weather permitting and if symptoms reappear. I don't like this intermittent chit so I hope I get the rough idleing symptoms again in the morning so I have something to troubleshoot.
If I figure out what the problem is I will let you know. If you get it figured out let me know. We gotta deal?
What color spring did you install in Clays FRX? Are you sure it is installed straight?
I wouldnt think which color spring he installed could be the problem but I could be wrong. His truck ran great for 25 miles and then started stumbling. If the spring is installed wrong or cocked wouldnt he have the problem all the time. Correct me if i'm wrong. What about the EOT sensor? If thats bad or going bad wouldnt that cause fueling and timing issues? Doesent the EOT tell the PCM how to schedule fuel?
got me thinkin here......EOT engine oil temp Im assuming what would happen if the oil temp was too low? it seems strange but temp guage shows normal operating temp but can wipe oil off of dip stick with fingers and no problem most times..... hmmm
