Seems like the 4x4's are certainly tougher to find than the 2wd and generally get snatched up pretty quick and yes, Oregon, Washington and Idaho do seem pretty good for finding the 4x4's.

Just spotted one this morning off I-90 between Moses Lake and Ritzville, Wa. 67-72 4X crew sitting next to a farm house with no bed on it.
Hey Jhooch, that sounds like exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. Any way you could do some leg work and see if it's for sale or get the owner's number so i could give a call? Maybe even look it over and take some pics? I'd much appreciate it and hopefully be sending you that finder's fee.
searchtempest and autotempest are the same group and yes I use those. Also use statewidelist and go state by state searching. All over oldfordcrewcabs.com, craigslist, ebay, fordification and here. Find plenty of 2wd, but the 4x4s are hard to catch for a good price of they want an arm and a leg for a rust bucket. So I'm still searching.
You have to keep in mind that finding what you're after on those sites also requires the seller to list it right. I've seen many crew cabs that weren't labeled as such. Or 4x4 that wasn't labeled as 4x4. Or they use 4wd instead of 4x4, or 4 x 4. Or it's a 72 but they list it as a 73. Or they list the year with two digits (72) instead of four (1972). Or they list it as an f250 but don't mention the word "Ford" so my search doesn't bring it up when i'm searching for "ford (1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972). There are SO many variations it's almost impossible not to miss something. I do internet marketing for a living and deal in organic rankings and search keywords, and I still have trouble hitting them all.
I hear ya! I've run across crew cabs that are not found via the typical search terms. Like you, I have a whole bunch of variations on search terms that I go through. It is time consuming, but when you have a passion its worth it. I'll let you know if I run across anything that looks like it will fit your needs.

Might be awhile before I get that way again (it's about 80 miles from me) but if I do I'll check it out. Problem is I might want to buy it.
I've got a line on a couple in the NW but hard to get someone to look a them for me. I'll be travelling to Arizona soon, anyone know of one out that way?
