18 vs 15 inch rims

I have a. 2008 ford f-150. 2 wheel drive. I currently have. 18 inch rims. Were option on truck when I bought it used my question is. For. Budget concerns can I put 15 inch rims. , I measured. The. Brakes. And total inches across. Is. 15 inches.

If the brakes measure 15 inches across and the rim measures 15 inches across then no

I believe 17" was/is the smallest offered for these trucks.

Dano's correct. The smallest diameter wheel for a 04-08 F150 is 17". Anything smaller won't clear the calipers on the front.

I would leave the 18s...the tires may be a little more expensive, but with a two wheel drive, you won't be buying mud tires or anything so you should be able to find some decently priced tires.

theres plenty of used 17 " wheels out there, look around , you might find someone that will swap with ya.

Check tire prices and availability for 17s before you swap. I don't think it's any better with 17s than 18s....


255/65 x17, priced $130 to $240.

265/60 x18, priced $122 to $296, and it appears more tires listed.
