I have a '03 Ranger 4.0L. I'm iterested in getting a Flowmaster on it. I don't want one that gives it the muscle car sound, nor do I want a street racer buzzing sound. Does anyone recomend a series of pipe to get. Thanks.
The 40 series is the "muscle car" sound you talk about. That is the one I like, and I think it's the one that sells the most.
However, if you want something in between, try the 50 series. My brother had that one on his 4.3 V6 S-10, and it sounded like what you are looking for.
If you don't have mandrel bent pipes, you have got to really watch your turning angles, or you'll defeat the whole purpose of a better flowing exhaust.
Check out Edelbrock RPM series mufflers. I had one on my '85 Bronco and it sounded great and performed even better. The sound was nice and deep, but not loud.
I agree with Wxboy, the 40's series has the deeper sound like a muscle car. My friend has the 50 series, it sounds great, and you can still hear your music. So I would go with the 50's series if you want a medium loud/deep sound. But if you wanna really turn heads go with the 40 series. Thats my opinion.
Yeah, I'm not looking for the deep sound. My friend has one on his full sive chevy, but I don't think it is right for a Ranger. so I think I will go for the medium sound.
