If anyone that has used a trailer can fill this survey out it would be greatly appreciated. I am doing this for an engineering class at my High School. I will be posting this in multiple sub forums so i apologize for duplicates. Here is a link to the survey. Thank you for your time.
Done. Am I missing something? Because backing up to a trailer is not a difficult task. Now I have a back up camera, so I think a 5 year old could do it now. But even before that I could hit the coupling with my ball every time.
I took the survey, but you may want to stipulate if the tow vehicle has the backup camera or not. The 2008+ trucks can be optioned with a camera that greatly aid in backing up to a bumper pull trailer.
I no longer need or desire a helper when backing up to the trailer b/c the camera is all of the help I need.
I think if you added a question regarding if someone has a camera or not, your data will be much better as I imagine you will see at big swings in the answers to a few of your questions. Statistically, its going to make your day skewed in a way you probably don't want.

Agreed you should ad something about a camera I have one on my 98 and will be installing one on my 04 as soon as it warms up a bit I hook to a trailer 2 or 3 times a week and makes it a lot faster
Maybe you've already thought about this, but: Some people just get close and then move the trailer, even a scrawny dude like me can pick up 150-200# of tongue weight and move it onto the ball, that cover's most things up to a 16' utility trailer.
Guys he doesn't want to add an option about cameras. My guess is this is for an assignment in a high school economy class. Generally they have an assignment where you come up with a product, and sell it. But first you have to "feel the market" so to speak. So this survey acts as a way to find a need for the product he has proposed.
This may turn out to be a case of your survey asking the wrong people....
This site tends to be populated by "above average" capability folks. Like many of the folks above, I have years of experience hitching up and installed a back up camera. That means I hit it it pretty much every time.
But when I watch others, it is clear I am quite the outlier! Most people take many, many tries to do it. Their answers would be radically different.
Yeah the survey is meant just to see if hooking up to a trailer is a problem or not. I realize that a lot of people here hook up a lot but thats ok. Id like to get a good population of people. Do you guys have any suggestions of where i could post it to get more inexperienced people?
