I used their suction cup mount and put it in the lower corner of the window. That way the A pillar shades it much better and it's not so much in your face or off to the side but more of a heads up quick glance without removing your peripheral vision from the road and refocusing on something so close.
That doesn't look too bad in the daytime. Does it dim with the factory dimmer?
It has it's own dim function...the manual says it can sense the light hitting the screen and it uses that to dim it. You can set the max bright and dim, so you can tweak how much it adjusts a little bit.

I'm eventually going to move near the radio area by the VHF/UHF head. Should really shade it and hopefully not be as conspicuous to passer-bys

i wont mine blue i change my inside lights dash middle row dome lights back light and very back all change to much. most of them are blue and white for my team college b ball U of K
