I was rear-ended in December sitting at a stop light. Vehicle behind me got slammed and then was pushed in to me. Broke my trailer plug all to heck and bent the left side of my bumper in just a little bit. cost me like $200 to replace trailer plug bracket, plug, and wire harness that plugs in back of trailer plug. Guy that caused the wreck fled the scene and hit like three more cars, never got caught! The car that hit me was totaled, had a nice imprint of my receiver hitch in the radiator. Superbumper might of helped out some!
Not sure how that would work with backup sensors. Kind of renders them useless or even worse will be picked up by the sensors and beeping all the time in reverse. Not sure.
why not just put a 3 ft piece of square metal back there. that way it will stab into the car. if the collision is very hard that spare bumper isn't going to do anything.
wouldn't this thing damage the receiver/frame if a car slammed into it? i know the receiver is strong, but when my Bronco got totalled the receiver got bent all to heck...and it was a good US made receiver.. not some cheap china crap..
