Electrical issue with dash

So I was driving home last night after mounting my new 285/75/16's and my dash started blinking in and out on me. The headlights were also kind of jumpy. I got pulled over because the taillights were also out. After a discussion with the cop (no tickets) he let me go with my hazards on. Any thoughts as to possible causes? Could it be in the floor high/low switch? I deduced that it was the tail lights, cab roof lights, and dash lights all out, and the headlights were kind of faltering b/w high and low. It's a 79 f250 crew cab all stock.

Those are all mostly un-connected except for one thing; grounding. Check to make sure your grounds between the engine and frame and cab are sound.

Start with taking a wire brush and cleaning the grounding surface/mounting area of the voltage regulator.

Could be a bad headlight switch

Sounds like a headlight switch to me. Cleaning the grounds isn't a bad idea either.
