I am ready to start working on my truck. I bought this truck a few months ago and have been saving up some money to start working on it. The truck is in good shape over all but there are some trouble areas on the body that need to be fixed. It's a 75 f150 xlt ranger. There was a thread in this forum that had pictures of a project where they were doing their own paint job and fixing some trouble spots on their truck. Can someone point out some threads like that. I can't find it doing the search. I have never done any kind of body work on a car before but I have been practicing on a old rusty metal file cabinet that I turned into a tool chest lol.
I can't comment on how to do your own body work. I have never been any good at it, but I just wanted to say it looks like you have a very nice truck to work on. You don't see them that clean up here in Canada.

Best of luck on your project
Thanks, Here is a little history on the truck. The guy I bought it from told me that he found it by way of a friends neighbor. The truck was bought new in 74' the original owner died and his wife parked it under a tree for 20+ years. When she died her son had it but had no interest in it so they sold it to the guy I bought it from. He has tons of old cars and did not have time for it. Everything is original on the truck it has 96,000 miles on it. I have done the regular things like oil change, belts and hoses, ect. I love it. the origional color is the blue that you see, someone added the white at some point.
I have done little body woek, but all I can say is it takes time and if you put the time in it comes out all right, but time is the ticket, go slow and steady.
i was in auto body at a tech school when i was in highschool, it just takes time to get it right, alot of sanding, and refilling to get the perfect result, its not hard to do, just time consuming, goodluck
