Or a mid 80's Buick Century, they had a 4.3L Oldsmobile Diesel V6 in those, it's just as ****ty as the old 350 Diesel, but I'd still love one!
Yeah I would like a diesel ranger too I would trade my e4od truck for a nice one. I thought they had a mazda engine though. I wonder if you could get one with a back seat or a bronco 2 body that would be awesome!

Why the turbo hate john? You do know I get about 3mpg better with the turbo truck and it has more power and lower egt's= longer engine life= happy idi guy

The 83-85 Rangers had the Perkins engine, with timing gears. The 86-87 Had the Mitsubishi Diesel engine with a timing belt.

Be honest I wouldn't mind a turbo Perkins one, but I'd prefer the non turbo one

I've thought several times of butchering a cummins 3.3 liter into a ranger or even small half ton.

Lots of toyota guys are using that motor on repowers, and the engine seems to be one of the best engines ever bar none.

The 3.3 cummins is around 4000$ brand new, no egr or dpf etc, and it's got a turbocharger.

As much as i'm a fan of simplicity, I'd have a hard time to justify installing anything other than one of these 3.3's. It's like an old school engine, but brand new !!!
