Im in the processe of rebulding a 1972 429 and make it into a 460 for my 1976 F-250 4x4. I have already had the block board over .30 and I was going to buy a all new bottom end from Flatlanderracing. I want it to put out around 430 HP and 500 FT pounds. The cam I was going to run was a comp cam 4x4 Xtream with a 218/226 duration and a .514/.524 lift. I have 72 heads and I was really wondering if these heads will work and if I have to do any porting.

That cam is a good one. That's the one I'm running. Really strong out past 5000. The heads will work without any porting. All 385 series heads suck on the exhaust side, (except Boss 429), but they should be adequate for what you want. You may want to have CJ sized exhaust valves put in and then blend the bowls, but that's about it. The ports are so poorly designed that you have to really know what you are doing to do any good when porting the exhaust.
