Question Help with Dove Heads

Im going to build a 460 and want to find a set of Dove heads. I would like to end up with around 9.5 to 1 compression. What year heads would be the best? What did they come in? What numbers do I need to look for? Im not real up on the 460 stuff Im more of an FE guy but Im comming around. Thanks in advance for any and all help in this matter. Leadmic

DOVE means they were cast in 1970, used in '70/71 Any of the '68-71 heads have the same sized combustion chamber. Use pistons to achieve your desired compression ratio.

Help with Dove Heads

D0VE heads are high compression heads. I have only found a hand full of pistons that will get compression in the range you and I both want. TRW makes one thats dished in. #L2404F. It will put it right around that. CHeck out flatlander racing for them.

"Stock" or stock type pistons will put a 460 with D0VE heads at right around 9.4:1 give or take a little depending on how much you have milled, your valve seats, head gasket thickness, etc. They are a great upgrade for newer low compression smogger motors.
