Anyone put 93-95 Lightning coils on an 80-86? I found a NOS set for a decent price and am not sure about the ride height. My truck is an 81 std cab short box with a 302,aod with AC so the weight shouldn't be much different. Since it is a kingpin front end, there is little room for alignment so I would like for someone to have some experience with this set up before I purchase the springs. Have any of you done this or can point me in the right direction for an old post I might have missed?

You could always look them up on an auto parts website or the Moog website. Look up both the coils for your truck and the the ones for the year Lightning truck coils you are looking at.
The springs are 1" shorter but the same rate spring as a stock F150. The early lightning handled fairly well but wasn't very fancy in the suspension department.
That said, I would love to find a set of those for my dream beamed 81 F150!
I want to add a little info in case anyone does a search on this in the future. The truck sits an inch lower on the driver side and an inch and a half on the passenger side. With me sitting in it, it is even. I will edit this later with pictures so you guys will know how it sits with 275/60/17s, the same size as on the 1st gen Lightning. Being a guy who likes a low stance and vehicles that corner, it sits just about where I want it to. Just a couple inches from the top of the tire.
