2005 Excursion 1st post console question

Just got first excursion yesterday. came across the forum looking for some info on them through google.
Many things I want to do to it, but going to start with console. I have XLT trim. Console is plain with no power. I am wanting something with power there. What are my options, any aftermarket places for some custom consoles?
Looking at some Ford parts websites, I see different console with wire harness and power point. Is there a wire on my ex to plug into the wire harness if I buy that whole console setup and harness? Or am I going to have to supply my own power to this console.

Thanks for all the help.

my limited has a power point on the back for the rear passengers but not on the inside. I don't think you would need to change consoles, just buy a female lighter receptable and wire it up. The lighters on fords are continuous on so you could get power from any fused continuous power source... as to if the wiring is present already on your truck I don't know the answer.

I would use the 3m add a taps on the wires on the back of the stock lighter. I like to use the kind that form an insulated female spade connector. I'd use 14 gauge or thicker wire. If you unbolt the factory console you should have no problem snaking it under the factory carpet, especially if you use a coat hanger or similar. Stock bottom trim that the bottom lighter is in just comes right off by itself so it should be easy to pull. I'd unbolt the console first and make sure the harness isn't already under there. For what its worth, on mine I bought a 1 to 3 cigarette lighter extension cord and just ran it inside my console. I deemed that to be the easiest solution.

all that info helps. i will get in there to see if the wire harness is present or not. might want to just upgrade the console, there are no cup holders for rear passengers.

console

My 04 came with an upgraded console. It looks to be out of an 03 and up expedition. Has a powerpoint front passenger side and in the back.

I don't understand why they didn't put something in like that stock... looks good except for the nasty glue lines on the back where they stuck the controls.
