Supercab weatherstripping
and needed some serious help. I searched everywhere for an affordable set and finally decided on the kit that Bronco Graveyard sells (#36028) that
includes the entire door and window seals.
This kit actually is from a company called Precision.
On cab door seals: Fit great. door closes with a firm push and will set great I
think. I didn't use the foam core they sent to splice the sill as it made the
door too stiff.
Upper door seal: I haven't installed these yet since my truck didn't have them
and I need to figure out where they go.
Belt line seals: Outers fit pretty good and really hug the glass. I had to trim
them just a bit as they were too long. The inners did not include any
mounting options, just locating tabs. I reused the OEM staples by drilling two
small holes and crimping the staples in. Next time, I will use adhesive and a
couple of rivets.
Glass run: These fit pretty good, but are a little thin. A road test confirmed
this as air can be felt around the glass at about 40mph. I had to trim the
molded corner a liitle bit to get it to stay in.
Vent seals: These fit the frame pretty good. A little soapy water makes
installation a lot easier. They are thinner then the OEM seals though. This
makes the verticle leg just barley touch the glass. The front corners do not
touch the glass at all. I have an 1/8" gap that makes it look like the glass is
too short.
I will be replacing these if I find a better set.
Rear window seal: I haven't installed it yet.
Overall, my road noise is reduced by 80% but my leaks are worse due to the vent seals leaking.
Has anyone gotten good vent seals anywhere else that fit?
