There appears to be a braided, copper wire going from my frame to the bed bottom sort of under the passenger door of my truck.
It is very corroded and somewhat crispy. Is it a ground? Importance? What would happen if it was real corroded, cracked,.broken? Any insight would be appreciated. Thnx

It's a box ground. Just replace it. My truck has a rust module that would require it to be a sound connection. Anything connected to the box requiring it to be ground would be compromised. Not sure if there is anything on your truck. Years ago when I was installing and servicing stereo's I had issues when guy's would come in with a stereo experiencing static and it was as simple as a loose/corroded body ground causing the interferrence.
I am having some electrical issues, and was wondering.
Is it connected to the box or the cab. The cab is even more important if it's corroded. Good solid grounds are imperative especially with todays touchy electronics.
Don't the lights etc need that ground to complete the circuit for them to work? I'm sure they do...install a GOOD solid ground between the bed and the truck frame.
Once you have it installed, spray it with a thick coating of spray silicone.....
It is between the cab and frame. Small (3/8 "wide) 6" in lenth, braided copper wire.
They only have a small copper battery terminal wire with eye holes on both ends. Will that work? Or need I the same braided one?
