Out of those two I personally would save for the shockers. They are small but pack a big punch for what they are. Go to hornblasters and watch some of the videos - you will laugh you're *** off ! Them you will understand what I mean about always wanting bigger/louder horns
It isn't that hard to install them , there is a train horn forum that is linked to the hornblasters website that is very helpful with lots of good info
With a tank that size would I be able to mount it in my cab? Would it be easier to do, or would it not work? I have also seen some people who make the train horn their normal horn.. Im pretty sure thats not legal in mass because of the volume, so would I need to but extra stuff to make it controllable with some sort of button or something?
I wired my train horns into the factory horn, however as you suggest I ran it on a switch so that I can always flip it back over to the factory horn. You should have room for a 2 gallon tank in the cab, however those compressors can be obnoxiously loud. You won't want the compressor in there with you by any means.
Im looking at either 2 Gallon Jackass Horn Kit or HornBlasters Shocker Classic 228VX Train Horn Kit
both of those look like the compressor is attached to tank. how loud? if its not super loud I wouldn't really mind it. is it possible to mount all of horn stuff right in the bed? I also want to mount the horns on top of my truck or somewhere they look cool... any ideas that aren't costly?
I had my 2 viar 480c's mounted under my passenger floorboard in my f350 and it was very loud to me. I personally wouldn't mount the horns on the cab or headache rack , but I also understand why you wouldn't wanna mount them under you're truck with all the road salt / corrosion that comes from that.
could I mount the whole thing in one of these or something like it and just bolt it down in my bed? I know how much the salt eats away at my truck and I don't think the horn would last to long if it was underneath
