This is getting really irritating...just got a new computer with Windows 7 and I'm having problems with this site. If I try to do a quick reply, it won't let me. If I use the "Post Reply" button, it'll sometimes work. I hope it'll let me post this. The computer came with Norton and I uninstalled it thinking that was the problem, but it continues.
Does or did anybody else have problems with Windows 7 and posting here, and what did you do to solve it?
Thanks in advance, hopefully I can reply if you have any questions. This is driving me nuts.
Might not be your computer,my computer is only a couple months old with windows 7(I use mozilla and it still does it) and it was working great on this site until a couple days ago. now sometimes it won't load the site at all, seems to work after I refresh the page, but it is still a pain. I think it is something with FTE because this is the only site I have problems with.
I have that problem sometmes, usually you sign out, clear cookies, clear history, sign back in, and it's good again for a while.
I've resorted to using the old computer to visit this site. And it happened again.
This is the error I keep getting
On the old comp. (windows xp) I have never had a problem until today. I closed the internet (which automatically clears everything), signed in then tried to reply and it worked. Seems to me, it's something with the site.
I just had to log out again (twice) to get this posted.
Not an expert and don`t use FF but here is what I came up with.
In Firefox go to Tools then Options then Advanced then network tab then Settings and then check "No Proxy". See if that helps.
First I'd go to Internet Explorer and see if it also does it there...... or if it STILL does it after doing the above, go to IE. I am using FireFox and it doesn't happen to me. Using Win 7 too.
I get a connection reset when my modem drops off line.
My ISP has some problems in my area and my modem will lose connection and then reset.
Check your lights on the modem when you have another incident.
If they are flashing you've dropped offline.
This just keeps getting better. I lost all internet for about an hour. Called the provider and got it working again. Apparently I have 15 Meg service, huh, never knew that.
I'm on IE now and we'll see how good it works.
I also checked to see if the "no proxy" box was checked and it was. So good on that one.
I'm running through a router also as I have two computers hooked up along with my TV. Right now, it's just this comp. directly to the modem.
Now to see if it'll post.
Edit: It worked, I think it's about time for a new modem also, I was told it's a 2005 model. Didn't think it was that old. Seems to be a hit or miss with the speed though.
and another. Tried posting with router hooked up and nothing. Back to running straight from modem. Guess I'll just replace everything and be done with it.
