Looked at an 01' ranger edge today with 100k miles and a v6. Its extremely clean and has brand new tires. It was marked at 7900. Does that seem a bit high, or would you buy it
Seems a little high. I would comparison shop locally and online and see if you can establish a baseline. Might give you some ammo to negotiate with and you might find a comparable truck for much less.
It is high, but my experience in used cars right now is all used cars that are in good condition are selling a lot higher than they used to. You could try to negotiate it down, but you have to know what to look for in order to do that. As a general rule, if the owner keeps good maintenance records, the asking price can be higher, so long as those records show the vehicle was well cared for. Otherwise, try to determine what maintenance was done, what fluids were changed and when. If they don't know or it hasn't been done, try to talk them down. If those things have been done, then the asking price might be well worth it.
