My boyfriend has a 1972 Highboy and he bought it from a guy who put on the hydraulic steering. However, he thinks he is missing the bushing? The pitman arm bushing? I have looked everywhere and so has he but I was wondering if you could help us out!
I know this is the 1973-1979 thread but the hydraulic system he has was around he thinks until 1977.5(ish) so I thought I could get more help here than from the 1969-1972 thread
Thanks for your help in advance! He really needs to get this fixed and neither him nor I could find anything anywhere! I saw on other posts y'all were really helpful so, I figured I'd get an account and try my luck!
He can't take a picture right now but later he could but he says "it's the pitman arm bushing that goes to the hydraulic piece that has a bunch of hydraulic lines coming out of it"
There is no "bushing" between the pitman arm and control valve, a ball stud is all that connects the two...perhaps he's referring to the rubber grease boot...
I dusted off the chilton, and I don't see a bushing at the pitman arm, there is a lockwasheron the selector shaft though, maybe it is gone and the pitman is loose?
