no it didnt, i was driving down highway going about 55 and it just shut off on me and wouldnt start back up. alternator and battery are good.

Check the inertia switch, it shuts power to the pump in a crash but they can trip sometimes. I'm not sure where it is on your truck..its a white box about 1" square and I think its under the dash, pass side. might have to pull the carpet back to see it. Do you have a test light or voltmeter?

I know sometimes the gasoline eats the wiring harness that sits on top of the tank. If the pump wiring is getting voltage check that. You don't have to drop the tank, just loosen the screws on the strap and you can reach it.
Last time I replaced my pump the new one had 2 same-color wires and I got the polarity wrong. Took me ages to figure it out cuz the pump still made the whining noise, just didn't move gas. I know that's not your problem, I just felt like sharing.
